The Build Log | Week One
Welcome to the Conversation
If you're reading this, you've become more than a subscriber—you've become part of a community.
The Build Log was created as a place where we can move beyond simply reading articles and begin sharing our own journeys of rebuilding. Life looks different for each of us. Some of us are healing after loss. Others are navigating career changes, retirement, divorce, health challenges, or simply trying to rediscover who we are. Wherever you are, you're welcome here.
Each week I'll share a reflection from my own journey, along with a journal prompt designed to encourage honest thought and meaningful conversation. There are no perfect answers here. This isn't about having life figured out—it's about taking one intentional step forward and learning from one another along the way.
One of the greatest gifts we can offer another person is simply letting them know they aren't walking alone.
This Week's Reflection
In 2019, I lost my husband. That loss changed everything.
In the midst of grief, I found myself asking questions I never expected to face—Who am I now? What does life look like moving forward? How do I rebuild when everything feels broken?
That was the beginning of what I now call my "Studs Up" journey—stripping life down to its framework and slowly, intentionally rebuilding from the inside out. It hasn't been easy, and it hasn't been quick. But it has been real.
This space is an extension of that journey. It's a place where we can be honest about loss, about rebuilding, and about the courage it takes to keep going.
Weekly Journal Prompt
If you have experienced loss, what is one part of your story you feel ready to share?
It could be about the person you lost, how your life has changed, something you've learned, or even something you're still struggling to understand.
If you're comfortable, introduce yourself and share a piece of your story with the community. There is no pressure to share more than you're ready for—just begin where you are.

I'd love for you to share your thoughts in the comments below.
Would you like to introduce yourself?
What loss has shaped your journey?
What would you like others here to understand about your experience?
Please respond to one another with kindness, compassion, and support. This is a space where stories are honored and people are met with understanding.
The Build Log is a private members-only space. Conversations shared here stay within our community, creating a respectful environment where we can be honest, encourage one another, and grow together.
Thank you for being here and for helping build a community rooted in hope, reflection, and purpose.
I'll see you next week with another reflection and journal prompt.
